Even the most skilled, experienced farmers and gardeners occasionally find themselves in a rut. Uninspired. Hungry — pardon the pun — for creative ideas to shake them out of apathy and remind them why they fell in love with growing things in the first place.

In times like these, it can help to turn to social media, where growers across the globe are sharing beautiful, informative scenes and stories from their farms and gardens. Whether you’re looking for aesthetic inspiration or hard facts to help you grow bigger, better fruits and veggies, chances are there’s someone out there producing exactly the content you’re craving.

Not sure where to start looking? We’ve got you covered. Here are five of our favorite gardening Instagram accounts, and the reasons why we love them.

1. Indy Srinath (@indyofficinalis) — Equal parts gardening goddess and forage expert, Indy’s grid has a gorgeous aesthetic, and her focus on edible mushrooms is unique among gardening Instragrammers. Need another reason to check out her page? Right now, she’s in the middle of raising money to start a black-owned and led community urban farm for people of color in southern California! If you love a good cause as much as we do, her GoFundMe is a must-visit.

2. Comfort Farms (@comfortfarms) — Speaking of good causes, we’d be remiss in our duties as list-makers if we didn’t mention this nonprofit farm designed to help veterans with PTSD heal and prepare for future careers in sustainable agriculture. The stories that come out of this place are every bit as touching as you’d imagine, and the opportunities to get involved are plentiful.

3. Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds (@bakercreekseeds) — No list of gardening Instagrammers would be complete without mentioning Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, a company so ubiquitous, they rival Kleenex in terms of their brand being synonymous with their product. One of the joys of growing heirloom produce is the many unique varieties that are available, and nowhere are those better showcased than on Baker Creek’s extremely active Instagram page.

4. Alchemist Farm (@alchemistfarm) — The incorporation of animals into growing operations is a central part of our Climate Farming™ methodology, and since chickens are among the most useful species for our purposes, we’re always on the lookout for cool, unusual breeds. Alchemist Farm checks that box in terms of both the chickens themselves, and the beautiful eggs they produce. Plus, they’re committed to raising their chicks in the most ethical, humane way possible — another cause that’s close to our heart.

5. Sam Binkley (@healthyonyou) — There’s no point in growing all this delicious food if someone doesn’t eventually cook something with it, and this organic spice entrepreneur’s Instagram is a library of stunning, tasty dishes sure to invigorate your creative kitchen instincts.
